East of the Stampede Grounds, on a bluff overlooking downtown Calgary and the Saddledome, Scotsman’s Hill is an excellent spot from which to view the city and the mountains beyond.

To the west of Calgary are Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta, and farther along Highway 1 are the British Columbia towns of Field, in Yoho National Park, and Golden.
