Location: Cobble Hill is located in the Cowichan Valley, 4.5 miles (7 km) north of the Shawnigan Lake/Mill Bay Road on Highway 1, and 30 miles (48 km) north of Victoria.

Cobble Hill Fair: Don’t miss the old-fashioned Cobble Hill Fair, real country fair held annually at the Cobble Hill Fair Grounds on the fourth Saturday in August. The Cobble Hill Fair and Exhibition has delighted visitors with agricultural displays, livestock, and great family entertainment since 1909.

For a breathtaking view, climb Cobble Hill Mountain in Quarry Regional Wilderness Park – a featured site in the movie Little Women. Parts of the old Quarry and its history can still be found – watch for the picnic site that displays a 1914 steam compressor.

Heritage Sites: Visit historic sites throughout Cobble Hill, including the Bakery, Post Office and the Market.

Most wineries invite visitors for wine tastings and tours. Some even serve delicious food to complement the wine. As you tour, you may view the entire process from crushing to bottling, each winery uniquely different. What better place to sample and select your favourite beverage than the winery itself. North of Cobble Hill is the village of Cowichan Bay. The community and the surrounding area is home to a host of artists, craftspeople, and cottage industries – including some fine local wineries.

South of Cobble Hill are the communities of Shawnigan Lake, a fashionable summer recreation area and favourite weekend getaway spot, and Mill Bay at the south end of the Cowichan Valley. Travellers on the Island Highway can stop in at Mill Bay and enjoy the village’s quiet waterfront streets and wonderful Gulf Island views.

Cobble House Bed & Breakfast is located in Vancouver Island’s Wine Country, the Cowichan Valley, just 45 minutes north of Victoria and 60 minutes south of Nanaimo. Centrally located for exploring southern Vancouver Island in different directions, Cobble House B&B is nestled in a 40-acre private natural forest, with Shawnigan Creek flowing by along one side.

Our three guest rooms are spacious, comfortable, smoke free and well equipped, all with private bathroom and comfortable sitting areas. Wildlife is a daily occurrence. Relax on our flower-filled deck in the summer to enjoy the birds and hummingbirds at their feeders. Deer will often wander by and occasionally elk or bear pay a visit. We’ve also seen mink, many owls and even river otters on the lawn!
