Quatse
River
This small stream flows north from Quatse Lake to Hardy Bay at Port
Hardy.
The Quatse River's total length is only 10km, and its fishable length
is limited to the lowermost 5km.
Despite its
short length, the Quatse River supports a sizeable run of steelhead,
fall coho and a few sea-run cutthroat. Stocking of cutthroat has
been initiated in the hope of developing the fishery for this species.
Access is via crossings of the roads to Holberg
and Coal Harbour (paved),
and by wading along the stream.
