Premier Listings for Flat Lake Provincial Park

Located southwest of 100 Mile House is a beautiful little getaway park. Flat Lake Provincial Park provides a wonderful environment for observing animals within the wetlands located nearby. Visitors are often able to spot aquatic fur-bearers and waterfowl in the marshes and small lakes nearby.

Within the park, visitors can enjoy hiking and canoeing – this is a population destination for one- to three-day canoe trips. Locals call the area the Davis Lake Chain, after the lake nearest the access. Please do not launch canoes or kayaks from the cleared private land on the shore of Davis Lake. Continue a couple of hundred metres further on past the park boundary sign. In the winter, Flat Lake Provincial Park is ideal for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and even snowmobiling.

Wilderness camping is permitted, but no facilities are provided. Park water is not drinkable, so visitors need to bring their own supply. Because Flat Lake Provincial Park is an undeveloped wilderness area with no facilities, visitors should be self-sufficient and properly equipped.

Flat Lake Provincial Park is located southwest of 100 Mile House off Highway 97. To access the canoe chain from 100 Mile House, reset your odometer as you pass the Visitor Centre, and drive south on Highway 97 for 12 miles (19 km). Turn right at Davis Lake Road. This road is flat but somewhat rough and potholed – passable in a two-wheel-drive vehicle. Stay on the road, ignoring turnoffs at 1.4 km and 1.8 km from the highway junction. At 3 km you will see old buildings on your left, located on private property. A further 200 metres past the park boundary sign there is an area next to Davis Lake open enough to park and launch canoes.
