Premier Listings for Mill Farm Park

This 65-hectare park, acquired in November 1996 as part of the Pacific Marine Heritage Legacy, is located on the western slopes of Mount Bruce, on Saltspring Island.

Features of the park include an old mill, a 26-hectare stand of old-growth Douglas-fir, Garry Oak meadow habitat and many endangered species of plants and wildflowers.

Another reason to make the trip to Mill Farm Park is to take in the magnificent views. The Mount Bruce Trail provides a fine view into the Saanich Inlet as far as Senanus Island to the south and over Separation Point into Cowichan Bay to the West.

From the summit of Mount Bruce, look to the east over the Southern Gulf Islands, Washington’s Mount Baker and the Coast Mountains of the BC mainland in the background.

The park, as yet undeveloped with no facilities, is accessed by BC Ferries from Victoria (Swartz Bay) and Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Fulford Harbour on Saltspring Island.

From the ferry terminal take Isabella Point Road, turn onto Musgrave Road and continue on this picturesque but rough, dirt road for 12 kilometres to the park.

On the way back from the park, take a few minutes to pause at the crest of Musgrave Road for a great view of Fulford Harbour and the ferry terminal.
