Wakes Cove Provincial Park on Valdes Island across from Gabriola Island is a 205-hectare park in the coastal Douglas fir ecosystem, protecting a mix of old-growth Douglas fir, Garry oak and arbutus trees, as well as several endangered plant species.

Wakes Cove is a popular recreation destination, offering hiking trails and a protected anchorage in the north central Gulf Islands, providing shelter for kayakers and boaters. Spectacular day trips offer opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. No camping in currently permitted in the park.

This park is near popular salmon fishing areas in the Strait of Georgia. Fishing is permitted as per provincial and federal fishing regulations. All anglers should check the current regulations issued by Fisheries and Oceans Canada prior to fishing. Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence.

Wakes Cove Provincial Park offers excellent views of Gabriola Passage, the Strait of Georgia and the Sunshine Coast. Whales, harbour seals, sea lions, mink, otters, bald eagles, and a variety of other marine life and birds can be seen in and around the park.

Wakes Cove Provincial Park is located at the northern tip of Valdes Island, across from Drumbeg Provincial Park on Gabriola Island, between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia.
