Premier Listings for Kimberley Alpine Resort

Kimberley Alpine Resort is located 2.5 miles (4 km) west of the funky mountain town of Kimberley in the BC Rockies region of British Columbia. Kimberley’s long, sunny, south-facing ridge in the Purcell Mountains offers a respectable 700-metre vertical drop, with excellent tree-lined runs and glades for skiers and snowboarders.

The highest city in Canada, at 1,120 metres, Kimberley is the classic mining town of the Rockies region, named in 1896 after the famous South African diamond mine. The nearby mountains were once staked for mining claims, a history reflected in the names of the runs.

The city of Kimberley is known as the ‘Bavarian City of the Rockies’. Kimberley combines old European flair with outstanding hospitality. Home to excellent gift shops, unique restaurants and a variety of pubs and night spots, Kimberley is only a few moments drive from the Ski Resort. The downtown area is called the ‘Platzl’ and looks like a small alpine village.

Kimberley is located in the BC Rockies, in southeast British Columbia, 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Cranbrook, off Highway 95A. Private bus services, shuttles and taxi companies also run between Kimberley and Cranbrook, Vancouver, Calgary, and other points in BC and Alberta.
