Premier Listings for Tahsish-Kwois Provincial Park

Tahsish-Kwois Provincial Park is located at the head of Kyuquot Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The park features old growth forests and steep forested slopes leading to rugged mountains and spectacular karst features. Included within the park is the Tahsish River Ecological Reserve situated at the head of Tahsish Inlet. Recreational use of this ecological reserve is not appropriate.

The 10,829-hectare park supports a rich diversity of wildlife habitat, including Roosevelt elk, waterfowl, fish and intertidal life. Tahsish-Kwois Park comprises the watershed of the Tahsish River and both watersheds of the Kwois and Silburn creeks. Each watershed attracts and shelters different species of wildlife.

Tahsish-Kwois is a very isolated and undeveloped wilderness area with no facilities available. Adventurers that undertake a kayak or hiking trip to the park are rewarded with magnificent scenery, pristine lakes and forests of giant Sitka spruce and western hemlock.

Logging roads in the upper portion of the Tahsish River watershed, outside of the park, provide an opportunity for rugged hiking access to Tahsish-Kwois.

Tahsish-Kwois Provincial Park is located approximately 40 km south of Port McNeill and 20 km east of the village of Kyuquot on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Access to the park is primarily by boat up the mouth of Tahsish Inlet. Boaters can reference marine chart # 3682 (Kyuquot Sound) for more information on this area.

Vehicles can reach the shore of Kyuquot Sound at either Fair Harbour or Artlish River by way of roads to Zeballos. The park can also be entered on foot at its eastern boundary via a logging road that branches from the road to Zeballos. Travel in the park is restricted to boating or walking.
