Premier Listings for Echo Bay Marine Park

A former Forest Ranger Station, Echo Bay Marine Provincial Park (2 hectares) is located on the northwest side of Gilford Island, near the head of scenic Echo Bay.

The facilities are basic; walk-in campsites, picnic area, a walking trail and one pit toilet.

There is a small wharf to tie up to, and fuel, moorage and supplies are available at Echo Bay Resort, adjacent to the park. Other amenities available at Echo Bay include a Post Office, Grocery Store and Arts and Crafts stores.

This area is often visited by kayakers traveling the popular Broughton Archipelago kayak circuit, who stop at Echo Bay to refresh their water supply and camp overnight. A number of kayak transportation companies utilize Echo Bay as a drop off spot for their kayak operations.

A dock and ramp provides access to the day-use area. Overnight moorage is prohibited for vessels more than 7 meters long. Larger vessels must anchor or use the neighboring docks located at one of the two resorts in the community of Echo Bay.

The waters around Echo Bay Park offer ample opportunities for salt-water fishing. All anglers should check the current regulations issued by Fisheries and Oceans Canada prior to fishing. Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence.

Echo Bay Marine Provincial Park is located on Gilford Island, between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia.

Access to Echo Bay is by floatplane or by boat from Retreat Passage or Cramer Passage on the northwest side of Gilford Island. Echo Bay is best reached from Telegraph Cove, Alert Bay and Port McNeill on Vancouver Island.
