Roche Cove Regional Park, in East Sooke on Vancouver Island, covers 159 hectares and features numerous beaches, beautiful vistas, forested trails, and a secluded cove off the Sooke Basin.
Whether you’re out for a casual stroll or an invigorating hike, the extensive network of walking and hiking trails in the park will provide hours of enjoyment and exercise. There is no boating access or launch facility at the cove or park.
The 46-kilometre multi-use Galloping Goose Trail passes through Roche Cove, connecting the park to the adjacent Matheson Lake Regional Park. Hikers, cyclists, joggers and horse riders share the trail, affectionately referred to as The Goose.

Starting from the Roche Cove parking area, follow the walking trail to Kellett Point. This affords lovely views of Sooke Basin and, in the distance, the Olympic Mountains of Washington. The grassy knoll makes an excellent picnic area.
Returning to the parking lot you can continue along Cedar Grove Trail, the Galloping Goose Trail or follow Matheson Creek Trail if you plan to visit Matheson Lake, which is great for swimming, fishing and paddling.
Roche Cove and Roche Harbour in Sooke Basin are named for Richard Roche, 3rd Lieutenant on HMS Satellite, a British naval vessel stationed in Victoria from 1857-1860.
Roche Cove Regional Park is located on Gillespie Road near Sooke, southwest of Victoria off West Coast Highway 14.
