Adams Lake Provincial Park is located on the southwestern shore of Adams Lake in the Thompson Okanagan, a paradise of pristine beaches covering over 2,500 m of shoreline. This 56-hectare park is surrounded by forests of aspen, birch, willow, Douglas fir and cedar.
Cycling, windsurfing, waterskiing, swimming, and canoeing are all popular activities here, and fishing is good for kokanee and rainbow trout. Adams is a large lake, and subject to gusts of strong wind. There are few pullouts available during the high water of May and June. The park has a number of known archaeological sites.
There are 33 vehicle/tent campsites, the sites are fairly small and are not suitable for large RVs. Only basic facilities are provided – picnic tables, pit toilets, fire pits, firewood and water. The water is not drinkable, so visitors need to bring their own supply of potable water. Campers must be self-sufficient when using the user-maintained campsite.
The park is open from May 15 to September 15, and fees are payable via a self-registration system. Reservations are not accepted at this park, all campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis. No services after provided after September 15th.
This park should not be confused with Adams Lake Marine Provincial Park, which is located on the east side of Adams Lake, and is accessible by boat only. The marine park offers wilderness lakeshore camping at Poplar Point and Spillman Beach. No facilities are provided at these sites.
Adams Lake Provincial Park is located 19 miles (30 km) north of Chase. Take the Scotch Creek turnoff on Highway 1 at Squilax, onto Squilax-Anglemont Road, and travel west on the Holding/Adams Lake West Road to the park.
