Yard Creek Provincial Park offers quiet, shady camping and is a pleasant stopover camp or base camp when exploring the Sicamous and Shuswap Lake area. Created in 1956, the popular roadside campground and day-use area covers 175 hectares of beautiful forested upland. Due to its roadside location, Yard Creek Park is a haven for travellers from May to September.
The icy temperature of Yard Creek precludes swimming on even the hottest days. Conversely, for much of the year, moist conditions prevail here in the eastern reaches of the interior wetbelt. Surrounding vegetation consists mainly of hemlock and cedar, and some impressive mushroom formations. The area is noted for its bird watching.

The park contains a variety of bird species, including American dippers. These fascinating little birds dive into the icy waters of the creek and “fly” along under the water in search of water insects. Watch for them on the rocks along Yard Creek.
There are 65 quiet, shaded tent and RV camping sites at Yard Creek Park, as well as day-use/picnicking sites. The park usually has vacancies during July and August, and most long weekends. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. (No reservations required).
Anglers can cast a line in Yard Creek, or the Eagle River across the highway, or test their fishing ability in Shuswap Lake.
Yard Creek Provincial Park offers an extensive network of nature trails. Walk the 1-kilometre creek-side hiking trail in the park, or explore the nearby Eagle River Nature Trail across the highway on the north side.
