Premier Listings for Yahk Provincial Park
Yahk Provincial Park is situated just north of the British Columbia-Idaho border, on the banks of the Moyie River. This small 9-hectare park offers an uncommercialized area in southeastern BC, perfect for overnight camping or picnicking. Yahk is a small community of only 200 residents, but was once a major supplier of railroad ties for the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Surrounding forests consist of Douglas fir, lodgepole pine and ponderosa pine. Moose and mule deer are sometimes seen in the park. Recreational activities in the park are fairly limited. Fishing for Dolly Varden in the Moyie River is popular.
Yahk is a pleasant little campground with 26 vehicle/tent campsites, as well as 30 day-use/picnicking sites. Basic facilities are provided – picnic tables, pit toilets, fire pits, firewood and water. Some facilities are wheelchair accessible. The campground is open from April to October, with fees collected from May to September.
Yahk Provincial Park is located in the BC Rockies region of British Columbia, 22 miles (35 km) east of Creston on the south side of Crowsnest Highway 3.
