There are two Ski Resorts in the Fraser Valley and Neighbouring Area:

Sasquatch Mountain Resort and Fraser Valley
Sasquatch Mountain Resort, nestled high above the stunning Harrison Lake in British Columbia’s scenic Fraser Valley, Sasquatch Mountain Resort (formerly known as Hemlock Valley) is a hidden alpine gem and one of the Lower Mainland’s best-kept secrets. This welcoming, family-friendly winter playground offers an array of outdoor adventures to suit every taste and skill level.

From carving fresh tracks on downhill skiing and snowboarding terrain, to gliding through peaceful cross-country trails and snowshoe paths, the resort provides countless ways to embrace winter’s magic. Families and thrill-seekers alike delight in the vibrant tube park and skiing opportunities that add extra layers of fun.

Though a smaller regional destination by design, Sasquatch Mountain Resort is growing as a year-round adventure hub. Recent developments have started opening its breathtaking trails to mountain bikers in the summer, transforming the mountain into a multi-season playground surrounded by wilderness.

Thanks to its unique low elevation and proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Sasquatch experiences varied snow conditions year-to-year. When cold weather settles in, it consistently ranks among Southwestern B.C.’s snowiest spots, delivering deep snowpacks that local skiers and riders savor. The resort’s ski area, perched within a rolling, contoured bowl, is accessed by three chairlifts—one triple, a double, and a quad—offering a satisfying mix of terrain.

Just north of Highway 7 near Harrison Bay and northwest of Agassiz, Sasquatch Mountain Resort strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and peaceful mountain escape. Nearby, enthusiasts find excellent cross-country skiing routes weaving through the fir forests around Post Creek near Chilliwack Lake, marked by trail signs high on tree trunks, including a scenic run alongside the Chilliwack River leading to the provincial park.

Neighbouring Area
Manning Park Resort in the Cascade Mountains near the British Columbia/Washington border offers downhill skiing and snowboarding, and is the premier cross-country and snowshoeing destination in southwestern British Columbia. The resort is accessed off the Crowsnest Highway 33 on the border between the tourism regions of Thompson Okanagan and Vancouver, Coast and Mountains, and offers more than 62 miles (100 km) of ungroomed beginner, intermediate, and advanced cross-country ski trails, as well as snowshoeing opportunities.

For downhill skiers and snowboarders, the Gibson Pass Ski Area, a private operation located in the park, offers a variety of slopes and runs with its two chairlifts, T-bar and beginners’ handle tow. It also features a ski school, groomed and track-set cross-country ski trails, equipment rentals, a day lodge, and day care. Total vertical drop here is 1,417 feet (431 m). Manning Park Resort is located in E.C. Manning Provincial Park on Highway 3, 40 miles (63 km) east of Hope and approximately 140 miles (220 km) east of Vancouver (3 hours).

Winter camping for self-contained units is available at the Lightning Lake day-use area, and for tenters there is the Lone Duck winter camping area. The extensive trail system of the Cascade Provincial Recreation Area, which is accessed from Hwy 3 in E.C. Manning Provincial Park, provides the opportunity for ski touring, but no huts or shelters are available.
