The provincial transportation and highway ministry operates a small fleet of inland ferries to complete the highway system where there are no bridges. These ferries carry passengers and vehicles on the following routes (Times listed are Pacific Time Zone):-
Adams Lake Cable Ferry
Ferry at the southwest end of Adams Lake to the southeast end of lake.
24-hour service – emergencies only between 3:00 am and 5:00 am.
Crossing time: 6 minutes.
Arrow Park Ferry
Across the junction between the Upper and Lower Arrow Lake at Arrow Park on Highway 6.
On demand between 5:00 am and 9:20 pm (break in service from 12:15 pm – 2:15 pm daily). Crossing time: 5 minutes
Barnston Island Ferry
Across Parsons Channel on the south side of the Fraser River in the Lower Mainland between Barnston Island and Port Kells, in the north east corner of Surrey.
On demand Monday – Thursday: 6:15 am – 11:55 pm.
On demand Friday – Sunday: 6:15 am – 12:55 am.
Crossing time: 5 minutes
Big Bar Ferry
Across the Fraser River, 72 kilometres west of Clinton.
An aerial tramway for passengers only – operates when water is low or icy.
On demand 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (except noon – 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm).
Crossing time: 10 minutes
Francois Lake Ferry
Francois Lake to Southbank – Highway 35 – 26km south of Burns Lake.
From Southbank: 5:30 am to 10:30 pm.
From Francois Lake: 5:55am to 11:00 pm

Glade Ferry
Across the Kootenay River on Highway 3A, 22.5 kilometres west of Nelson, to Glade.
On demand: 5:00 am – 2:30 am.

Harrop Ferry
Across Kootenay Lake, on highway 3A, 24.5 kilometres northeast of Nelson and 8 kilometres west of Balfour, between Long Beach and the Harrop/Procter area.
On demand 24 hours
Crossing time: 5 minutes
Kootenay Lake Ferry
Free ferry ride from Balfour to Kootenay Bay on Hwy 3A.
Daily, year-round schedule; Additional sailings in summer
From Balfour Terminal: 6.30 am to 9:40 pm.
From Kootenay Bay Terminal: 7:10 am to 10:20 pm (summer/winter)
Crossing time: 35 minutes
Little Fort Ferry
Across the North Thompson River, 93 kilometres north of Kamloops
2 vehicles – 12 passengers
Daily schedule: 7:00 am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 6:20pm (last trip)
Crossing time: 5 minutes
Lytton Ferry
Across the Fraser River, about 2.4 kilometres north of Lytton.
No service during high water.
On demand 6:30 am – 10:15 pm (except 10:30 -11:00 am and 6:30-7:00 pm).

Marguerite Ferry
Across the Fraser River, 54 kilometres north of Williams Lake. When water is low and/or icy, a passenger-only aerial tram is operated instead of the ferry. This generally occurs during winter months – approximately mid-November to mid-May.

McLure Ferry
Across the North Thompson River, 43 kilometres north of Kamloops.
No service during high water or winter freeze up. Detour via Westsyde Road.
Daily schedule: 7:00 am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 6:20pm (last trip)
Crossing time: 5 minutes
Needles Ferry
Route across the Lower Arrow Lake, about 59 kilometres south of Nakusp on Highway 6, between Fauquier and Needles.
From Fauquier: 5.00 am to 10.00 pm, every half hour
From Needles: 5.15 am to 9.45 pm, every half hour
Crossing time: 5 minutes.
Upper Arrow Lakes (Galena Bay – Shelter Bay) Ferry
Route across Upper Arrow Lake, 49 kilometres south of Revelstoke on Highway 23, between Shelter Bay and Galena Bay.
Daily Schedule:
– From Shelter Bay: 6:00 am – 11:00 pm, every hour on the hour.
– From Galena Bay: 6:30 am – 11:30 pm, every hour on the half hour.
Crossing time: 20 minutes.
Additional sailings in summer are provided by the Motor Vessel Shelter Bay, which runs daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, as required, from mid June until after the September long weekend, with additional two ferry sailings on the May and Thanksgiving long weekends.
Dangerous cargo sailings: Tuesday and Thursday
– From Shelter Bay at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm
– From Galena Bay at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm.
Usk Ferry
Across the Skeena River, about 16 kilometres northeast of Terrace, 0.8 kilometres off Highway 16, between South and North Usk.
An aerial tramway for passengers only, operates when water is low or icy.
On demand, 6:15 am – 11:45 pm (except 9:30 am – 11:15 am; 2:45 pm – 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm – 8:15 pm).
Crossing time: 5 – 7 minutes
