Nestled between the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Port Angeles is the largest city on the North Olympic Peninsula, and the gateway to Olympic National Park. Port Angeles also provides a ferry terminal facility for ferry service to Victoria in British Columbia.
BC Ferries does not operate a ferry service between British Columbia and Washington. However, there is a private vehicle and passenger ferry service available between Victoria Downtown and Washington state.
MV Coho sails daily, all year round, between Port Angeles and Victoria. The crossing time is 90 minutes. The motor vessel Coho made her first sailing to Victoria, BC on 29 December 1959. Her overall length is 341.5 feet, with a service speed of 15 knots. Her carrying capacity averages 100 vehicles and up to 1,000 passengers.
During the scenic crossing of Juan de Fuca Strait, passengers can enjoy the many onboard amenities on the Coho, including a cafeteria, gift shop, duty-free shopping, and the solarium viewing area on the top passenger deck. More than 400,000 passengers and over 120,000 vehicles make the trip each year, accounting for more than 60 per cent of total visitor entries into Victoria’s Inner Harbour. During its more than half a century of service, the M.V. Coho has transported more than 21 million passengers and five million vehicles.

Victoria Express
The Victoria Express was a summer, passenger-only express ferry service operated by Victoria Rapid Transit between Victoria and Port Angeles, and between Victoria and Friday Harbour on San Juan Island. This service ended in March 2011, when Black Ball Transport acquired the business operations of Victoria Express. The ferry service was discontinued, with Victoria Express customers invited to use the services of the Coho to travel to Victoria, British Columbia.
