When the temperature drops and winter blankets most of Canada in snow, British Columbia offers a softer, greener alternative. Along the province’s rugged coastline and charming seaside towns, life slows down without ever standing still. This winter, Evergreen Hospitality Group invites travellers to make BC their seasonal home with the Evergreen Snowbird Experience, a new long-stay program designed for comfort, exploration, and connection.
Whether you’re a retiree chasing mild weather, a remote worker looking for inspiration, or simply someone eager to embrace a West Coast winter, Evergreen’s Snowbird Experience offers everything you need to unpack, unwind, and rediscover British Columbia at your own pace.
What Is the Evergreen Snowbird Experience?
Running from October 2025 through April 30, 2026, the Evergreen Snowbird Experience lets guests enjoy monthly stays at select Evergreen hotels and resorts across BC. Each stay includes:
- One-month minimum stay with flexible options (you can spend one month in Parksville, the next month in Ucluelet, and another month in Campbell River).
- Access to over 20 Evergreen properties across BC during your stay for an extra fee per night.
- Comfortable Queen or Two-Queen rooms, many featuring kitchenettes or suites.
- Optional upgrades for lofts and premium oceanview accommodations.
- Family-owned hospitality and all the comforts of home, without the winter freeze.
It’s a simple, seamless way to enjoy Canada’s West Coast at your own pace while soaking in its culture, food, and year-round beauty.
Where to Stay: Evergreen’s Signature BC Destinations

From island shores to mountain valleys, Evergreen’s collection of hotels showcases the best of British Columbia’s landscapes and lifestyle.
Parksville
Located along Vancouver Island’s sunny east coast, Parksville is a haven for long walks on sandy beaches and relaxed living. Stay at one of Evergreen’s oceanfront gems, Sea Edge, Tide’s Inn, or Coast Parksville Hotel, where every sunset feels like a personal performance. Explore local farmers’ markets, sip coffee with ocean views, and stroll Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park when the tide rolls out.
Ucluelet
For those seeking serenity at the edge of the Pacific, Canadian Princess Lodge in Ucluelet is a coastal sanctuary. Here, waves crash dramatically against the rocks, and trails like the Wild Pacific beckon for exploration. Enjoy cozy evenings by the fireplace or venture to nearby Tofino for surfing, storm watching, and west coast dining experiences.
Courtenay
Set in the Comox Valley, Courtenay offers a blend of coastal charm and mountain access. Coast Courtenay Hotel provides a perfect base for exploring the region’s wineries, trails, and ski slopes on Mount Washington. In just a day, you can kayak the shoreline, visit local art galleries, and dine on fresh-caught seafood.
Campbell River
Known as the “Salmon Capital of the World”, Campbell River combines outdoor adventure with coastal elegance. Evergreen’s Painter’s Lodge, one of BC’s most iconic resorts, captures the spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Guests can enjoy world-class fishing, wildlife tours, and the peaceful rhythm of the Discovery Passage.
Sunshine Coast
Across the water from Vancouver Island lies the Sunshine Coast, home to one of Evergreen’s most enchanting destinations, Rockwater Secret Cove Resort. Set above the sparkling waters of Halfmoon Bay, this resort blends coastal elegance with rustic charm. Guests can stay in luxurious tenthouse suites or cozy cabins perched along the shoreline, indulge in spa treatments with ocean views, or explore nearby trails and artisan galleries in Sechelt and Pender Harbour.
Perfect for those seeking tranquility with a touch of indulgence, Rockwater Secret Cove embodies the essence of the West Coast winter escape.
Hospitality with Heart: About Evergreen Hospitality Group

Founded on family values and local pride, Evergreen Hospitality Group is one of British Columbia’s largest family-owned hotel and tourism companies, operating 27 properties across the province. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to share the authentic beauty and culture of BC through genuine hospitality.
What makes Evergreen unique is its locally inspired, community-focused approach. Every hotel reflects the spirit of its surroundings, featuring local artisans, suppliers, and design elements that tell the story of each destination. Guests experience not only the comfort of their stay but also a connection to the community that surrounds them.
Evergreen is also at the forefront of sustainable tourism. Their eco-conscious philosophy includes renovating and restoring existing buildings rather than demolishing them, implementing energy-efficient systems, and providing amenities like EV chargers and refillable water stations. It’s hospitality that feels good, and does good.
“Our goal has always been to provide more than just a place to stay,” says Alisha Adam, Managing Partner at Evergreen. “We want every guest to experience the real British Columbia, its landscapes, its people, and its culture, while feeling genuinely welcomed.”
Why British Columbia Is the Ultimate Winter Retreat
While other parts of Canada brace for icy commutes and snowed-in weekends, BC’s coast enjoys one of the country’s mildest climates. Average winter temperatures hover between 5°C and 10°C, perfect for hiking, biking, and outdoor adventures year-round.
From the cultural charm of Victoria to the artisan markets of Gibsons and the mountain trails of Courtenay, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy winter here. With Evergreen’s Snowbird Experience, guests can explore it all, without the rush.
