The Dancers of Damelahamid are thrilled to announce the 17th annual Coastal Dance Festival, celebrating Indigenous stories, songs, and dances from Canada and around the globe. Join us from March 1st to March 3rd, 2024, at the Anvil Centre for this unforgettable event.

One of the festival’s highlights is an exclusive sneak peek of our upcoming full-length production, “Raven Mother,” dedicated to the memory of the late Elder Margaret Harris, a co-founder of our company. Scheduled for its world premiere at The Cultch in October 2024, “Raven Mother” represents our most ambitious project yet, embodying generations of artistic and cultural heritage while honoring Harris’s enduring legacy.

In addition to “Raven Mother,” the festival will feature a diverse lineup of regional artists, including crowd favorites such as Chinook Song Catchers, Dakhká Khwáan Dancers, and Rainbow Creek Dancers, among others. We’re also excited to welcome back Karena Koria from New Zealand, who last graced our stage in 2010. This time, Koria will be joined by his wife, Milly Grant-Koria, as one half of the Turongo Collective.

Tickets are available starting at $25. For more details and ticket purchases, please visit damelahamid.ca. We look forward to seeing you at the festival!
