Premier Listings for Silver Lake Provincial Park
Although Silver Lake Provincial Park is not within the Skagit Valley itself, the rugged landscape that rises above this small park gives a flavour for what lies ahead.
Recreational activities include fishing and windsurfing. The same strong winds that prove so favourable for gliders here at the east end of the valley also power windsurfers across this lake’s chilly surface. Wet suites are recommended year-round. While Silver Lake is not included in the park boundaries, it provides excellent trout fishing opportunities. Catch and release only, single barbless hook. Licences are available for purchase in Hope/Silver Hope Creek approximately 8 km away. Ice fishing is not recommended. Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence.
There is a 2 wheel drive accessible, single wide, gravel boat launch for small boats located near the day-use and campground areas. There is a parking area for vehicles and boat trailers, however no overnight parking is available. Boats can be left in the water or beached overnight at owners own risk.
There is a small campground located here with 25 vehicle/tent sites. A fee is charged for camping between May and October. Only basic facilities are provided – picnic tables, pit toilets, fire pits, firewood and water.
Silver Lake Provincial Park is located 7.5 miles (12 km) southwest of Hope in British Columbia.
