The 40-hectare hilltop Mount Parke Regional Park boasts the highest viewpoint on Mayne Island, with views of the other Gulf Islands and the lower mainland.

The ridge and slopes of 255-metre Mount Parke feature a variety of wildflowers and birds, including vultures and eagles, viewed along the rough and steep trails.

The Mount Parke area is criscrossed with traditional hiking trails and old logging roads. Trails join the western edge of the park to the summit of Mount Parke. Hikers should remain on the trails to avoid harming the fragile moss and lichen communities.

Pick a clear day to hike to the summit and be rewarded with excellent vistas of Saturna Island to the southeast, the Pender Islands to the south, the city of Vancouver over to the east, and Prevost Island and Saltspring Island as you swing around to the west.

Mount Parke Regional Park is located on Mayne Island in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. Access to the park is via Montrose Road off Fernhill Road.

BC Ferries operates a ferry service to Village Bay on Mayne Island. Village Bay actually has no village; all commercial facilities are at nearby Miners Bay, which got its name during the Cariboo golf rush when miners used the island as a stopping point.
