  • The 9:40am sailing from Denman Island to Buckley Bay is usually a busy sailing and has the potential to overload.
  • Ticket sales and loading end 3 minutes before the scheduled sailing time for vehicles and 5 minutes before the scheduled sailing time for walk-on passengers.

Travellers wishing to visit Hornby Island must first take the ferry to Denman Island and drive across the island to Gravelly Bay on the east coast of Denman Island. A second ferry to Hornby Island makes the short crossing between Gravelly Bay on Denman and Shingle Spit on Hornby Island.

  • The Hornby Island ferry’s crew collects fares. Fares can be paid using Experience Cards, Credit Cards, Cash and Travellers’ Cheques. Debit Cards cannot be accepted at this time. You can pay fares for both islands at Buckley Bay on Vancouver Island, where credit cards are accepted.
  • The last connecting ferry from Vancouver Island is 6pm daily except Friday when it’s 10pm.
  • Ticket sales and loading end 3 minutes before the scheduled sailing time for vehicles and 5 minutes before the scheduled sailing time for walk-on passengers.
