Mount Savona Provincial Park is a protected wilderness area, the superb scenery in the park makes it an excellent site for hikers, nature study, and wildlife viewing. The peak of Mount Savona, from where visitors enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Thompson River Valley, is accessible by a gravel road, suitable for 4-wheel drive vehicles.
Surrounding landscape consists of rugged cliffs, canyons and dry ridges. The park also contains a small lake and associated marshlands, old growth Douglas-fir, and pockets of high elevation grassland are part of Mount Savona Provincial Park. The park has the highest (elevational) known occurrence of fame flower that grows on Kamloops lavas at specific elevations. There is a pictograph in excellent condition in a cave formation and ancient burial sites found within the park.
There are no facilities provided at this park, however some informal trails can be found throughout the park that are suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Mount Savona Provincial Park is located in the Thompson region of British Columbia, 22 miles (35 km) west of Kamloops off Highway 1. Access to the park is via Tunkwa Lake Road from the town of Savona.
