Premier Listings for Steelhead Provincial Park

Steelhead Provincial Park is located on the southwest shore of Kamloops Lake. Summer recreation draws a crowd, but at other times you’ll have this park and its wonderfully eroded landscape to yourself.

Everything you need for summer fun is right here: camping, picnicking, fishing, paddling, swimming and hiking. This is also an angling hot spot. Steelhead offers fantastic opportunities to view the salmon run in August and September each year. From high on the bank, you can watch three species of pacific salmon lining upstream.

There are 42 vehicle/tent campsites at this park on a first-come, first-served basis – no reservations are accepted. Campground Dates with Full Services and Fees: April 15 – November 1. Basic facilities are provided – picnic tables, pit toilets, fire pits, firewood and water, as well as flush toilets, showers and electrical hook-ups. Some facilities are wheelchair accessible. There is also a boat launch available. Visitors should note that the nearest public telephone is located 2 km away at Savona.

Steelhead Provincial Park is located off Highway 1, 25 miles (40 km) west of Kamloops in the Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia.
